Living Like Dandelions
Dandelions embody whimsical beauty and evoke a sense of hope and childlike wonder. I can still remember making wishes upon their feathery petals as a little girl. Yet, despite their delicate appearance, they are tenacious and hardy flowers, possessing the grit necessary to thrive in harsh conditions.
As a therapist for fifteen years, I’ve had the holy honor of bearing witness to the stories of wild, tender, and tenacious women. Each courageous journey of healing has restored hope in some of the most brutal and grief-stricken places of the heart. Like the tufts of a dandelion, I have watched this hope spread freely throughout their lives, sprouting seeds of renewal in their marriages, friendships, mothering, and relationship with God.
As a writer, speaker, and therapist, my heart’s desire is to help others heal from the shame and trauma that holds them back from their inherent strength and unique beauty. I long to help others flourish so they, like the petals of a dandelion, may boldly extend God’s transformative love into the world.
About Rachel
About eight years ago, Michael and I co-founded Redeemer Counseling, where our team offers individual and couples counseling as well as weekend intensives. My passion for this work comes from being a client myself. Counseling has been a life-changing process for me. I’m grateful for the attentive, compassionate eyes who have witnessed and grieved my pain with me, helping me excavate the beauty and strength underneath the rubble. The process has given me a deeper sense of my unique calling, allowing me to move into my world with more love and intentionality.
